The Castle of Latour invited the old variety apple-trees owners to taste the exceptional juice of their apples. Gold, tasty and 100% natural, this apple juice made of old varieties from the apples orchards of Latour (Virton) and his neighborhood is a real treasure. Entitled « Vergers de Latour » Bernard Thomas was so sad to see that all those local old varieties of apples were decomposing under the trees: belle-rouge, blanche, transparente, rambour, boskoop, belle-fleur, grisette, reinette and other local varieties. He met the owners of old orchards in Latour, Gomery, Ethe and Ruette who allowed him to pick their fruit. Since then, he has produced his natural local apple juice which is squeezed and bottled at a French cooperative, in Meuse. "We produce between 1 000 and 8 000 liters per year. We could produce 20 000 liters, but we don't, because we wish to keep an artisanal production."
Bernard Thomas serves his 100% natural apple juice for breakfast in his hotel-restaurant. You can also buy it in the local supermarkets. Every year, Bernard Thomas invites the orchards owners for a good mal and for tasting the juice of the year.
